Jesse Nathan
Jesse Nathan's poems appear in the Paris Review, Kenyon Review, Harvard Review, Yale Review, American Poetry Review, FENCE, jubilat, the Nation, and elsewhere. Prose appears in The San Francisco Chronicle, The Threepenny Review, and Tin House. His work has been supported by fellowships from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, Stanford University, the Arts Research Center at UC Berkeley, Bread Loaf, the Community of Writers, the Ashbery Home School, and the Kansas State Arts Commission.
Nathan is also a founding editor of The McSweeney's Poetry Series. With Ilya Kaminsky and Dominic Luxford, he edited In the Shape of a Human Body I Am Visiting on Earth: Poems from Far and Wide, and his reviews and interviews appear in the online McSweeney's series "Short Conversations with Poets." Nathan earned a PhD in poetry and poetics from Stanford, and he is now a lecturer in the English Department at UC Berkeley. He lives in Oakland.
